Tree Care Tips
Caring for your FirEver Christmas Tree
A FirEver Christmas tree is living and needs water to survive – the number one secret to a happy tree. All FirEver Christmas trees come with a saucer to catch water and prevent spills. Our trees also come with a coconut fibre coir disc on top of the soil to help minimise evaporation and retain water. You can water through the disc but lift it occasionally to ensure water reaches the roots.

For watering, it's simple: do the finger test, if you dig you finger into the soil and it comes up dirty its fine, if it comes up dry then your tree needs a BIG drink. Or for a small tree, 1 cup of water every day or 2; a bigger tree needs 2-3 cups every day. If there's water left in the saucer from the previous day, no need to water until tomorrow.

We shape and trim our trees throughout the year and before they leave the nursery if needed. If you are planning on returning your tree to the nursery then please do not trim your tree. Fairy lights and baubles are fine to put on your FirEver Christmas Tree but we ask that you do not use tinsel as it can adversely affect the trees needles and cause them to brown.

When the Christmas festivities are done its important to help your FirEver Christmas tree transition to being outside by avoiding placing the tree in the direct summer sun. A nice shady/protected spot is the ideal location for your tree for 7 -14 days to help it acclimatize to being back outside and avoid shock or sunburn. Continue to give a your tree a good drink every other day until it's returned to the nursery. If you are planning on keeping your tree position it in a partial shaded area (morning sun is fine) and avoid the hot Australian summer sun to give your tree the best chance.

When your tree gets back to the Nursery we tag it with your name and contact info and we get back in touch mid November to arrange delivery of your tree back to you if you choose to rent again.
